Outback Towns have a fascination all of thier own. From the modern "city" of Alice Springs to the ramshackle corrugated iron hamlet of Marree, they all have a distinct charm, and all offer the opportunity to glimpse back into the pioneering past.
The isolation of the outback has created strong communities, and the towns provide both networks in the supply chain, but also communication nodes, where people can come together and information and news shared.
They also provide the opportunity to refresh, get your emails, refuel, restock, have a night in a bed, have someone else cook your meal, or go out and be enterained.
There is a great diversity of towns in Outback Australia. We have selected some of our favourites here. Click on the links below for more.
Alice Springs is in the middle of Australia and considered the "capital" of the Outback. This page is under construction, so Alice Springs is all we have as yet. Come back soon! |
